A six-foot-long snake bit a backup dancer for rapper Nicki Minaj Friday during a rehearsal for the MTV Video Music AwardsMTV.com reports.

Minaj was onstage rehearsing her hit single "Anaconda" (naturally) when the female dancer was bitten on the inside of her arm by a non-venomous boa constrictor named Rocky, a 15-year veteran of the entertainment industry.

The dancer was immediately treated on-site by a medic, and was then taken to a nearby hospital, according to Chris Velvin, director of production safety for Viacom Media Networks.

"It is in no way life-threatening, but scary," Velvin said. "We wanted her to start getting treatment as soon as possible."

The snake's handler said Rocky had never bitten anyone before.
