Coney Sauce for Hot Dogs


2 lbs. ground chuck

½ cup chopped onion

2 cups catsup

¼ cup sugar (or to taste)

¼ cup vinegar

¼ cup Dijon or yellow mustard

½ tsp. celery seed

1 tsp. Worcestershire Sauce




Place the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook, stirring to crumble until beef is brown. Drain well. Add remaining ingredients and simmer on low heat for about and hour, stirring frequently so it doesn't stick.

This can also be placed in a slow cooker after beef is browned and other ingredients have been added. Cover and simmer on low for a few hours before serving.
