As heart health month winds down, Healthy Hollywood has tips for taking care of your ticker. If you think heart disease is just for older people or men, think again.

Rosie O'Donnell, Toni Braxton and Miley Cyrus have all spoken publicly about their heart health issues. At 20, Ms. Cyrus has a condition that causes her heart to beat faster than normal.

According to the American Heart Association (AHA), heart disease is the single most common cause of death among women, regardless of race and ethnicity. The weight loss program Jenny Craig has teamed up with the AHA to help improve heart health. "Jenny Craig is encouraging Americans to take control of their health by adding walking into their lifestyle and make better eating choices," adds Jenny Craig CEO Dana Fiser.

Valerie Bertinelli and Sara Rue are a few of the famous ladies who have gotten on healthier lifestyle track, thanks to Jenny Craig. "It's important to incorporate fresh fruits and vegetables into every meal because these foods lower the calorie density of meals," says Dana, who adds, "For example, mixing non-starchy vegetables, such as tomatoes, broccoli and peppers, into a pasta dish will lower the calorie density and enlarge the portion."

Fiser says to eat breakfast every day to keep blood sugar levels stable. And, get active. "Physical activity is a key component to weight loss success and keeping your heart healthy. Increasing activity levels will not only help burn calories, but it will also reduce stress. Try integrating physical activity into your daily lifestyle so that you're exercising without even knowing it – run around with your children, park further away from the door or take the stairs. Another fun way to incorporate activity is by joining a Heart Walk and taking a stand in the fight against heart disease."
