The "What to Expect When You're Expecting" actor reportedly filed divorce docs in Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday and is requesting joint physical and legal custody of the soon-to-be-former couple's 4-year-old twins, Thomas Boone and Zoe Grace.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, back in March, Kimberly — a former real estate agent — initially filed for divorce.
She then put the divorce on hold in April, hoping to work things out with the 58-year-old actor, but filed for separation in October.
"Kimberly and Dennis Quaid have decided to legally separate after eight years of marriage," a rep for Dennis said in a statement to Access Hollywood at the time. "They ask that their privacy and the privacy of their family be respected during this difficult time. No further statement will be given."

Dennis and Kimberly tied the knot in 2004.
This will be the third divorce for the actor. Dennis and Meg Ryan divorced in 2001 (they also have a 20-year-old son, Jack, together). In 1983, he divorced from actress PJ Soles after nearly five years of marriage.
