Australian shed builder explains why storage sheds make good financial sense for business and individuals alike.
Perth, Western Australia (PRWEB) October 08, 2012
Recently, Betta Warwick Storage opened the first stage of their new “purpose-built and high-tech” storage shed facility. The facility is owned by Yve Stocks and her brother Phil Ariel, and will be managed by Landmark Harcourts, a Warwick realty and management firm. According to Stocks, the facility, which opened with 30 storage sheds, has plans in the works to add another 90 sheds as demand dictates.
According to Stocks, self-storage is a great resource for “de-cluttering your home,” and “storing unused belongings knowing they’re safe and secure.” The facility has no onsite management, but has a top-notch security system to ensure that their customers’ belongings are safe. Customers will need a unique personal code to get in, and will use padlocks to lock their individual units. In addition, there are security cameras in all areas, working 24/7, to ensure the safety of their customers’ belongings.
The smaller sheds are 3m x 3m, and the largest are 3m x 6m. The facility is currently running an opening special at $35 per week for the larger shed.
Max Italiano, owner of Action Sheds Australia, says it makes good financial sense to use sheds for storage, both for business and personal use: “Business owners are beginning to realise that they can maximise their investments by using sheds for many of the functions traditionally filled by bricks and mortar. Storage sheds are a perfect example. They don’t have to be built to the same specifications as a living space would, so the savings is passed on to the consumers.”
Italiano continued, “A storage shed is very simple to erect. They come pre-manufactured with heavy duty steel. The steel is very sturdy, and four times as resistant to corrosion as standard building steel. It costs far less than a bricks and mortar building the same size, but it is just as safe for storage, and can handle weather better than some older houses can.”
Italiano was asked about personal use of sheds: “Renting a storage shed is a good bargain for many, but it is even better if you can buy one and put it next to your house. A garage or workshop shed can add a lot of storage space to your house, and it can free up more living space for you, too. In addition, a storage shed can help rid your house of clutter. It’s really a great bargain; it costs a lot less for 200 square metres of house space and 100 square metres of storage shed than it would for 300 square metres of house.”
Italiano elaborated further: “It makes good financial sense to use sheds for storage or workshop area for individuals, because they can be obtained for a fraction of the cost of a traditional bricks and mortar building. We think people should pay less money for storage than they do for living space, and storage sheds are a great option for those who want more space for less money.”
