NativeAmericanArtHistory.com highlights major milestones in the development and evolution of Native American Indian art of the Southwest and takes a look at the history.

"I wanted to look at the different styles and regions and explore how all of those factors came together to form beautiful examples of Indian art," said marla Appleton with NativeAmericanArtHistory.com. "From basket weaving to Native American jewelry styles, there's a lot of history to explore."

Native American history developed over thousands of years and their art has always played a crucial role in the development of civilizations throughout time. From the Navajo and Hopi to Plains Indians - art has been a key factor in daily life and spiritual belief.

Their art if profoundly expressive and made of several types of materials featuring imagery and symbols.

"I's encourage anyone who wants to learn more to head over to the website and learn a bit more about Native American art history," Appleton said. "It's really quite fascinating to look at American history from a different angle and through a different lens."
